Free SEO and meta tag checker
Check the technical basics search engines read on a page: its title and description, main heading, canonical address, noindex instructions, language, sharing tags, structured data and mobile viewport, plus your robots.txt and sitemap. Enter any page on your site; the home page is a good start.
The whole site, not one page, for €79
The Website Health Report runs these checks on your home page and crawls up to fifty pages for missing and duplicate titles, broken links and forms that lead nowhere. It adds speed on a phone, the SSL certificate and security headers, email authentication and domain expiry, with the evidence for every finding and a fix list in priority order. It does not do keyword research or ranking work.
What gets checked
- Title: present, and short enough (60 characters or fewer) to be shown in full.
- Meta description: present, and between 50 and 160 characters.
- Main heading: exactly one H1.
- Canonical address: declared, and whether it points at this page or another.
- Noindex: in the robots meta tag or the X-Robots-Tag header.
- Language: the lang attribute on the html element.
- Sharing preview: Open Graph title and image.
- Structured data: JSON-LD present and readable, with the types listed.
- Viewport: the tag that gives phones a phone layout.
- robots.txt: published, and not blocking the whole site.
- Sitemap: found where robots.txt says, or at the usual addresses.
- llms.txt: published at /llms.txt for AI assistants.
What this is not
This is not keyword research, ranking analysis or a content review. It does not know what people search for, where you rank or whether your copy persuades. It cannot see Search Console, so it cannot tell you whether a page is indexed: read why a website is not showing on Google for how to check that.
Lengths are guides, not rules. Google cuts titles by width rather than an exact character count, and it sometimes rewrites titles and descriptions. A paid audit that covers keywords and content is a different job; the website audit guide sets out what each price buys.
On-page SEO checks, answered
What does this SEO checker look at?
The technical basics on one page: the title and description searchers see, the main heading, the canonical address, any noindex instruction, the declared language, the social sharing tags, structured data and the mobile viewport. It also checks that the site publishes a robots.txt file and a sitemap.
Will fixing these get me to the top of Google?
No, and anyone who promises that is guessing. These are the signals a search engine reads before it reads your copy. Getting them right removes obstacles; where you rank depends on what you write, who links to you and what competitors do, none of which this tool measures.
Why check one page and not the whole site?
Because each page has its own title, description and heading, and a problem on your services page matters more than an average across fifty pages. Check the pages customers land on first. The €79 report crawls up to fifty pages for missing and duplicate titles.
Is this the same check the paid report runs?
The same code. The €79 Website Health Report runs these checks on your home page and does not count anything twice: titles and descriptions are checked across every crawled page, and the viewport sits with the speed findings. It adds speed, SSL and security headers, email authentication, broken links, forms and domain expiry.
